I have always been a sucker for infomercials but something about this one really hit the sweet spot with me. My jaw dropped each time I saw another photo result and heard a testimonial. When it was over, I sat at my computer, went to google, and typed in PX90 reviews. The commercial featured about six success stories, but on the internet there were pages full of them. I only looked at a few because the sheer volume of testimonials convinced me that this program definitely works. I have written this review as a way to answer some of the most frequent questions I receive.

What is PX90

PX90, is a revolutionary system that constantly introduces new moves to challenge your muscles and give you extraordinary results. The program was developed by celebrity fitness trainer Tony Horton, in conjunction with Beachbody.

What are the workout like and how much equipment do I need?

The daily workouts last 60 to 75 minutes and you work out to the videos six days a week. The odd days involve weights and resistance training and the even days involve plyometric, yoga, and kick boxing training. The videos are very professionally produced and shot in a gym setting. You will not see flawless fitness models smiling without breaking a sweat, but you will find real people who have completed the program working hard along side of you. There is a lot of focus on proper form and you will see multiple options for every exercise. I recommend using a pair of adjustable dumbbells and a pull up bar, although at a bare minimum you can get away with just a resistance band.

How important is the diet?

Understanding the nutrition guide is critical to getting the most out of the program. It gives you the choice to either make your own meals using food categories, or to use their meal plans which provides you with 90 days worth of recipes. The nutrition guide has three phases and recommends you start in a high protein, low carbohydrate phase, then move to a more balanced phase, and finally end on a low protein, high carbohydrate phase. Most people will be fine with just the first two phases, and the balanced phase is ideal for long term maintenance. Many people feel the nutrition guide is intimidating and confusing to follow, but I tell everyone to not worry about the details and to simply focus on making healthy choices and avoiding junk food. Even Tony Horton says that most people should just concern themselves with avoiding foods that are heavily process and loaded with sugars, and to eat lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats, fruits, and vegetables, and to find the spices that make them taste good.

What if I have questions while I am going through the program?

Beachbody has a great online community filled with people who have gone through their programs and are there to help. I have never seen such a strong, encouraging community. The online forums are filled with expert advice, and people to keep you accountable to your results and who offer constant support, motivation, and guidance.
